"Let me say first this: I don’t believe in torture, for any reason. I don’t even believe in making things slightly uncomfortable in the hopes that a prisoner will “break”. If you use enough torture, anyone will say anything in order to get the torture to stop. How then, do you know what is the truth, and what is said in the hopes that it will get the torture to stop. Torture doesn't just break the person being tortured; no human being can torture another without consequence. Everyone is debased when someone is tortured.
