From the FARP
"It seems that everyone is settling in and finding their groove. At this point in the tour, we have figured out who is who, and what they are about. A lot of the glitches have seemed to work themselves out; if you have a problem with someone, you don’t confront them and cause problems, you take it to your chain of command. Morale has been low for so long that the soldiers are to the point were they have learned to lower their standards of happiness and just be content with what they have. It sounds worse than it is, we are deployed in a combat zone, things are not going to be all cushy and we are learning that. There is no use trying to go against the grain. To get along, you have to go along and just do what you’re told to the best of your ability, without the luxury of a pat on the back and “good job soldier”.
Everyone seems to be having some problems back home, which is sad to hear, but it's not a shock to anyone anymore. We can expect some sort of drama and know we will have to deal with it the best we can. These are some of the down sides that me and my fellow soldiers discuss quite a bit, pretty much every time we speak and all we can say is “hey, just another day in paradise” and this is not just at my place of duty, its everywhere."
