After Action Report: Winners and Losers in the Hezbollah-Israel War
"With the cessation of fighting between Hezbollah and Israel largely holding after 24 hours, it is time to look at the likely winners and losers of the Hezbollah-Israel war. Israel spent the weekend scrambling to reach the Litani River and consolidate their positions south of the river before the fighting ended, launching an attack which amounted to too little too late. The negotiated cease fire implemented by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, has lead to a major political victory for Hezbollah, Iran and Syria, and dealt Israel, Lebanon and the United States serious setbacks.
The Winners:
Hezbollah: Hezbollah achieved what it intended to do from the outset of hostilities: fight the IDF to a draw, force negotiations and a cease fire in the United Nations, dictate the terms of the cease fire, obtain international recognition and acceptance, further erode support for Israel in the international community and remain a viable political and military force within Lebanon."

No win-win situation!
Is there a need to identify who wins in a war? All I know is that winning doesnt take lives or injures people, it doesnt leave thousands of people homeless, and it doesnt destroy buildings, houses, roads, and bridges. Winning is not destructive, it is restructive. So in this war, has either Hezbollah or Israel restructed something? If they have then both of them are winners then!
Hi me,
Welcome to my blog, you know I am having trouble understanding your message, for one I cant seem to find a definition for the word "restructive". I found it used in a few places but for the life of me I can not make heads or tails of what you meant.
Nice post. I would suggest that from a strategic economic point of view, Hezbollah and their buddies lost badly.
Hi K T Cat,
Thanks but, this is an aggregator blog, That post is from Counterterrorism Blog, follow the link to their excelent blog. What I do is bring all the Iraqi blog, and Milblogs that I read or news about the war and repost links here all in one place.
I do agree with your assessment that Hizbollah lost, but, wining militarily was never their goal. What they did win was the propaganda and Arab sentiment campaign, not to mention they derailed peace between Fatah, Hamas and Israel. making sure that the voice of moderation has been silenced.
Who really won, it all depends on the mindset you had to begin with.
