Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act

"With the media's continuous coverage of the war in Lebanon, the President vetoed the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2005 without much notice. The president explained the following as the reason to reject a bill that passed with 63-37 approval in the senate:

"This bill would support the taking of innocent human life in the hope of finding medical benefits for others," Bush said in announcing his veto. "It crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect."
