IRAQ: SUICIDE ATTACK HITS OLD AGE HOME

Basra, 20 June (AKI) - A suicide bomber blew himself up on Tuesday in an old age home in the southern Iraqi city of Basra. Reuters reported that two people were wounded and the suicide bomber was the only victim. The attack reportedly targeted an area where senior Iraqis gather to get their pension. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki declared a state of emergency in Basra last month to counter violence by armed groups and Shiite factions so far to no avail.
