"-Flightsuits are great! They were issued to us a few weeks ago for missions. They are flame-retardant, comfy, and much more ventilated than our standard uniform.

-There is no requirement to spell-check signs that will be posted on Camp Fallujah for all of its 8,000 inhabitants to see.

-We just got some new M16/M4 magazines issued to us. They are made by H&K and rumored to be more reliable because of a better spring and follower design. I’ve never had a problem with my regular magazines, but these are new, and they come in black. I’m sold.

-I hate AN/PVS-7B night vision goggles (NVGs). After an hour of riding with them attached to your helmet you will feel like someone is crushing the front of your skull. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough PVS-14s to go around."
