MoveOn and Me

"Finally, a MoveOn.org effort that I can fully support, rather than make fun of. In conjunction with Common Cause, MoveOn is pressing to require paper ballots as backup to electronic voting machines. The paper ballots are a good way to ensure that should there be an electronic glitch, or some other kind of failure, the votes can still be accurately counted.

I'm a little bit surprised by the support for this effort by MoveOn. Traditionally, the Democrats have been behind most instances of voter fraud, past and present. Think Mayor Daley and Tip O'Neil. I wouldn't think that a backup system would be in their best interests. But perhaps they've bought into their own fantasy of stolen presidential elections in 2000 and 2004."
