The Democrat Party -- Hijacked by Treasonous Liars

"Titled as this blog is, I must disclose my own political values. I am not a Republican, nor a conservative. Nor am I a liberal or libertarian. I take the truth and a dedication to humanitarian values, human rights, and democratic freedom where I find them. Way back in ancient times (no, no, not before Hoover), I was a democratic socialist. Soon, as a result in imbedding myself in the world's great books and literature, I turned libertarian. But in recent years, with the Libertarian Party turned wacko isolationist and some libertarians anti-democratic, I can no longer accept that label. I now call myself a freedomist to whom human rights and democratic freedom are the highest value.

That being said, I look on the Democrat Party with sadness. It used to be a great Party that steadfastly defended freedom in the face of attacks from the domestic socialist left and authoritarian right. And its vigorous anti-communist foreign policy helped defend free nations everywhere. The Marshall Plan and NATO that saved Europe, American rearmament, and the foreign policy of Containment that held Stalin in check were all conceived under the Democrats, as was the defense of South Korea against the North's invasion. Presidents Truman, and Kennedy (who built up our strategic forces and deeply cut taxes) and Democrat Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson (an anti-communist hawk) would be to the right of many Republicans today."
