Suleimani Airport joins international world

"(Zaman.com) By Salih Boztas - Suleymaniye Airport, which is built in the Kurdish region of Iraq, has received approval for its international flights certificate.

According to the decision taken by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) dated November 1, and numbered A1996-05, international flights will be allowed in to and out of Suleymaniye Airport. The Kurdish Authority is expected to struggle to organize flights from Europe to Suleymaniye in particular. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan had demanded the use of Turkish air space in this frame; Ankara had suspended its decision with regard to this demand because no authorization had been give regarding international flights in the airport. After the process is completed, the Kurdish administrators are expected to increase their demands in this frame. "
