If you ask me it's fear that drove him to close the comments, fear of having to defend his positions and fear of occasional agreeing with the opposition in public. Even though he was anonymous to us, I happen to know that he was in fact known to others, some nasty others, some of which I think made the occasional appearance on his blog. It's not new there has been a sort of movement to control the message coming out of Iraqi blogs from the beginning and I believe they got to him.
I could be wrong, maybe he was the one oppressing some of the others, it's hard to tell.
