What's Happening In Basra Is Bad

Fayrouz of Iraqi in America has the run down of news from Basra, including some reporting from her sources on the ground. Oh and she's watching the whether channel too, everyone here in South Florida has hurricane jitters as we watch Rita getting closer, so we know what she's going through. It looks at this hour that we here in South Florida will not se much. The keys may be hit by a minimal storm, and then...

My husband wants to send me to Dallas. I said to him I experienced war, tornados and bushfires. It's time to experience a hurricane.

We'll see how that goes.

Well, my husband will cover the hurricane for the newspaper.

I'm preparing my candles, food and books for this weekend. It will be fun.

Fay you have a strange sense of Fun. For me these storms only bring lots of extra work. Even though I have not put up the storm shutters for any of the resent storms, they were all little and going to miss me. But if we are threatened by a major storm I have to pick up the shop. I run a small furniture manufacturing company, so you can imagine that I have to protect a lot of materials and stuff from getting wet, then I have to do the house. I remember that when Andrew hit, I passed out that night and slept right through the storm. I had worked so hard that day to get ready and protect all the property, that when I finished with the house, I laid down and was out for the duration.

Fay the storm is getting stronger, it's not a game. I don't know how strong that building you live in is, or how high you live, or how close to the cost, flood zones, but if your going to get a direct hit I would take it very seriously and be prepared to fend for yourself for a least a week minimum. Your husband might not even be around as he may be working the storm and the aftermath.
