Britain has deported 33 Kurds back to Hewler, south Kurdistan

"London (TheKurdistani.com): The British government has deported 33 Kurds to the Hewler international airport in south [Iraqi] Kurdistan, a Kurdistan Democratic Party’s official told the Associated French Agency (AFP).

AFP reported that Sirwan Mohammed, a KDP official, has said that the first group of Kurdish deportees have arrived to Hewler (Erbil) airport last Wednesday on a British plane.

The British Home Office (similar to the Kurdish Interior Ministry), has started a campaign to arrest failed Kurdish asylum seekers of Iraqi origins from August 2005.

On 11th of August 2005, TheKurdistani.com was contacted by a number of Kurdish asylum seekers in London, Birmingham and Plymouth saying that relatives and friends were arrested by the British police and were told that they are going to be deported soon.

Refugee groups have condemned the British governments plan to deport Kurds to Iraqi Kurdistan, saying the move is against international laws. "

Well you've read the bad news. The good news is that the Hewler International Airport is able to receive international flights. That's big news, I wonder what flights are currently available and what flights are planed for the near future.
