""After the elections, we will start negotiations," Abbas said. "Ariel Sharon is an elected leader and we will negotiate with him. We will put the 'road map' on the table and say that we are ready to implement it completely.""

All of a sudden being elected is a good thing? Even two elections one right after another.

Where is OBL&Co?

The Palestinians have been abandoned and betrayed!!

ObL&Co. 'abandoning' the Palestinians may be a good thing. Of course, maybe Abbas is believing the hype that America will pick the winner of the Iraqi elections regardless of the vote count and is simply playing it up hoping that the Americans will do the same for him.

Yes it was sarcastic comment meant to highlight the fact that while OBL is releasing messages about the apostate Iraqi elections, the Palestinians are moving forward, and apparently embracing the value of being an "elected" official. And was directed at a sector of the Iraq resistance. Some of which have claimed solidarity with the plight of the Palestinian people, vowing to continue the fight.
But now the Palestinians seem to be saying, fuck that, you do whatever you want, we are going to look for a solution.
